Weather continues to be a leading cause of loss of control accidents, with Continued VFR flight into IMC
making up more accidents than all other types of weather accidents combined. It has stayed near the top of
NTSB focus areas for many years now, and yet remains a common and unfortunate cause of highly
preventable - and nearly always fatal - accidents.

Rob Mark, Publisher of Jetwhile.com, is a business jet pilot, flight instructor, former air traffic controller,
and senior editor at Flying Magazine.
