International Flying
Russ Calverley, a 6800 hour Commercial Pilot, CFI, CFII, MEI and an active college Professor teaching commercial flight, will speak about how Liga International (in existence since 1934) helps pilots safely travel internationally.
Mr. Calverley will speak about the role/responsibility of pilots as they get involved with International Flight. Russ will emphasize the safety of pilot, plane and passengers as LIGA supports amazing causes in Sinaloa, Mexico and will provide a brief history of the organization along with an overview of flight planning, documentation and safety tips that the Flying Doctors of Mercy provide for participating pilots. He will speak about expanding opportunities for pilots to fly out of the United States and use their skills to give back to people of other countries. Russ will describe their efforts in Northern Sinaloa, Mexico and some recent additions to LIGA Medical Clinics which serve about 6,000 people every year.
